Gray works as an auto mechanic, he is well-off enough and can afford to live in a posh house with his beautiful wife Asha. In the world where they have to live, technologies are at a high level, they help a modern person to make life easier for himself in all aspects. Despite the amazing opportunities for a person, Gray refuses to join chipping and other benefits of modernity, he is satisfied that he is the same as before, and devotes all his time to repairing cars of the past.

Returning with his wife in a manned car, an unknown program failure occurs, and the car gets into an accident, and in the most unfavorable area of the city. Suddenly they are attacked by several masked men, the woman is killed, and the man falls unconscious, having received a serious wound in the neck. Waking up in the hospital, he is informed that he is paralyzed and will not be able to move. Realizing that this is forever, the main character tries to commit suicide. Once in the hospital again, an artificial intelligence developer, Aaron, who was repairing his car, comes to him and offers to implant a perfect chip with which he can walk.
